Coup de Foudre: Contemporary Circus

Coup de Foudre returns to Brooklyn, NY with their eponymous contemporary flying trapeze show that played to sold out houses in 2024. Over the last year, the show has been workshopped, rewritten, recomposed, rechoreographed, fully taken to the next level, and now will be performed on a full size flying trapeze rig.
The show is performed to live music and an original score. Relationships are explored through the metaphor of weather in this evening length contemporary flying show.

Coup de Foudre is the only company in the United States performing evening length flying trapeze works.

COSMOS

Guest Artist: Ashtar Muallem
In this funny and moving show, Ashtar Muallem illustrates her life’s journey and her relationships with her countries, body, and spirituality. Her physical contortions mirror her dual life between two countries, cultures, and languages; between solitude and togetherness.

As a Palestinian born in Jerusalem who also lives in France, she navigates between Palestine and France in search of equilibrium and comfort in both. Inspired by Jerusalem and cherished memories of her grandmother, she seeks a connection with the Divine through yoga, meditation, and online tarot readings.

Ashtar synthesizes these experiences into a ceremony performed with poetry and humor. As she balances her life’s contradictions, her personal narrative merges with universal stories, and she reveals the beauty of interconnectedness.
Awalem will be performed in English.
